Deputy Principal - Houses and Pastoral (8MU + 1SMA)
We are excited to invite dynamic and inspirational educational leaders to apply for one of our Deputy Principal positions at Rosehill College. Roll growth and retirements have created opportunities for us to expand our team. We are seeking an educational leader who embodies our Rosehill College values of Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga, Hihiritanga, and Rangatiratanga in 2025.
Ideally, the successful candidates will have senior leadership experience. They will share responsibility for shaping the future of education at Rosehill College. You will take an active role in supporting and empowering our ākonga and kaimahi to reach personal excellence. Alongside classroom teaching commitments, you will collaboratively contribute to the college’s strategic direction.
Our college leaders understand the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and will ensure te reo me ōna Tikanga are upheld. We expect relational practices to tautoko positive relationships within our kura. A commitment to mana ōrite mō te mātauranga māori and cultural responsiveness is essential. Rise to the challenge of leading real change and enable the success of ākonga by collaboratively engaging with kaimahi, whānau and our wider community.
We anticipate successful candidates will share our belief that everybody has seeds of brilliance and have a willingness to acknowledge, recognise, cultivate and grow those seeds. Expertise in the following areas is advantageous:
- Embedding high quality pastoral practices across a kura, including overseeing the Heads of House
- Overseeing a school-based student wellbeing team
- Engagement and collaboration with external agencies and liaison with community
- Monitoring student attendance
- Collaboratively leading Manaakitia Mai (a college-wide pastoral care curriculum)
- Managing EOTC processes
Successful candidates will negotiate responsibility for initiatives aligned with our strategic goals and priorities.
