Celeste’s Walk the Line Creation Takes the Stage

A closer look at Celeste Thomson’s Walk the Line creation, modelled by Chris.

Celeste was selected as one of just 80 finalists from across New Zealand for the Walk the Line NZ Fashion Week Student Competition.

Her design brings together ideas from flora, marine life and space, using shades of blue and green throughout. Sustainability was also a key part of the design, with the garment made from recycled 100% cotton fabrics and natural dyes.

The piece includes hand and machine embroidery, appliqué, ruffles, smocking, detachable sleeves and handmade clay buttons. There is a lot of skill and careful work in every detail.
