Jorja Postill Makes Her Mark in National Swimming
Jorja Postill has had an outstanding year in swimming, earning selection for the Swimming New Zealand National Youth Program Age-Group Squad and placing 5th in her age group in the 50m Freestyle at the New Zealand Short Course Championships.
It has been a fantastic year in the pool for Jorja, who was selected for the Swimming New Zealand National Youth Program Age-Group Squad (White) earlier this year. She recently travelled to Christchurch to attend the National Youth Program Age-Group Camp.
Selection for the squad is a significant achievement, recognising Jorja’s performances, consistency, commitment and potential. The programme supports some of New Zealand’s most promising young swimmers and helps them develop towards future national and international competition.
Before heading to camp, Jorja competed at the New Zealand Short Course Championships, racing against almost 700 swimmers from around the country. She achieved two Top 10 finishes across her three events, including an outstanding 5th place in her age group in the 50m Freestyle, making her the 4th fastest Kiwi in that event.
Alongside her results at the National Age Group Championships and the Secondary School Open Water Championships, it has been a particularly successful year for Jorja. Her achievements reflect the hard work, resilience and dedication she brings to both training and competition.
At the Christchurch camp, Jorja had the opportunity to work with leading New Zealand coaches, learn more about high-performance swimming pathways, and take part in practical development sessions and workshops.
Congratulations to Jorja on these fantastic achievements. We look forward to seeing how she continues to develop in the pool!
