Rosehill Student Finalist at NZ Fashion Week
We are thrilled to announce that Celeste Thomson (Year 12) has been named a finalist in the prestigious Walk the Line NZ Fashion Week Young Designer Awards 2025.
Celeste’s entry, submitted in the Streetwear category, showcases her creativity, technical skill, and innovative approach to sustainable fashion. Her garment is constructed entirely from curtain and drape fabrics, breathing new life into upcycled materials.
Blending techwear influences with eclectic artistic detailing, Celeste’s design features sheer panels, embroidery, and appliqué — each symbolising different aspects of her identity. A standout feature is the back piece, which incorporates clock imagery to reflect the theme of timelessness and individuality in fashion.
This competition provides young designers with an incredible platform to present their work during New Zealand Fashion Week. Celeste will represent Rosehill College at the Walk the Line show on 30 August 2025 at Auckland’s Viaduct Waterfront, where her design will take to the runway alongside finalists from across the country.
